For our family, friends and those many of you who were concerned about how we made out I've put this page together to show you that yes, we are fine after Ike.

Make no mistake, Taz and I are extremely grateful that our home made it through this storm as well as it did.  While entire homes to the east and west of us were reduced to pilings sticking out of the ground our living area upstairs was virtually untouched.  Even our condos made it through without damage.

Our lovely Jamaica Palms downstairs, however, was another matter.  Below are a few images of our yard and what was left of Jamaica Palms after taking on about a 7' storm surge.  In case you're wondering... No, we didn't stay.  We stayed at a friend's house with s few others in League City, TX, about 22 miles from the island and we're all very grateful to "Blondie" for allowing us the use of her home.

All of these were taken when we were first allowed back over a week later, before we moved anything.

We pushed a wall or two back here and there, changed some sheetrock, replaced a few things but our Jamaica Palms is back!

The 6' fence was gone, as was Taz's newly constructed laundry and storage area

While many neighbors' things totally swept away, ours stayed home, kind of

Welcome...?

There's not supposed to be light at the other end of this shot

There was a 12' X 24' fully enclosed deck with a hot tub at the back of the house

The hot tub was on the side of the house, and the deck...

...floated over what remained of our 6' fence and landed in the side neighbor's yard, intact

We gained a picnic table from somewhere, and a truck...

...which washed out of a neighbor's garage after his walls went away

The ceiling fan didn't get wet at all!

Don't refrigerators work best while upright?

Among other things, there was a washer and dryer under there somewhere
